According to Steelers beat writer Easy Ed Bouchette, he says "thats all folks"

Listened to 93.7 The Fan today and according to Easy Ed Bouchette who is the Steelers beat writer, no more coaching changes. He thinks thats all they will make is just the two recent coaching changes. Of course we don't know if Easy Ed has inside sources which you would think he does after many, many years covering the team, or its just his gut feeling. Ed drinks lots of black and gold cool aid but I'm afraid he may know something here.

Fuck Douchette and the horse he rode in on.
She said, "Love me, " so I love her
She said, "Leave me, " so I left
    Then I went to Pittsburgh
And I ain't never comin' back

So our scape goats for 2019 are two position coaches...this team is a royal cluster fuck.

Won't even be worth investing the time to watch them next year. We already know how the story will end.

Pretty disheartening that us fans can see what product is being put on the field and yet the ownership stands steady on no improvement. There are things we don't have privy to and that may be the underlying results. I haven't witnessed Tomlins certainty to the degree it was on display at his last press conference, ever. He had scared eyes, eyes that said someone has been talked to very sure and heavy handed. Now Tomlin needs to go out and execute his plan and should he fail,.......maybe he will be gone. Could be sooner than most here think 2020 but maybe this is the final year 2019.

Tomlin 100 percent wants to keep Butler around, cause he's an easy fall guy for Tomlin when the defense sucks once again.
It'll be up to upper management to remove Butler. I think they know Tomlin will keep his hands on the defense no matter what so whats the point of even making a change, the defense will continue down a path of pure garbage.

Bouchette has been highly critical of the Steelers during the collapse. I have heard him say that Butler needs to go.

In reference to Butler, the D was 6th in yardage, 16th in scoring...not great, but not quite the abomination that it seemed to be. They were near the bottom in turnovers and had a nasty habit of crumbling at the end of games. Maybe they are figuring that personnel changes will fix the issues?

I really wanted him gone but honestly can't say I'm shocked, especially when I play Devil's Advocate.

I do honestly believe that 2019 will be Tomlin's year that makes or breaks him for another contract with the team. There are coaches out there like Kris Richard with Dallas, who is 39, is about a year away from getting a HC job. We have Munchak, as well. There are capable guys ready to jump in Tomlin's spot, if there is no improvement. Forget worrying about DC or OC changes, Tomlin HAS TO be on the hot seat and the changes may seem minimal now, but it's probably his last stand.

I blame the rooneys for allowing this team to fall apart like this.

Wait do you mean our special teams coach avoided the Ax? Tomlin's as safe as a pardoned turkey on Thanksgiving day....again.

Well if there are no more changes at least we keep Munchak.

Ed might be our most respected beat writer. He also has the Pittsburgh vote for the Hall of fame.
Out of smoke! Tomlin is 3-5 in his last eight playoff games, 3-6 if you include the Super Bowl loss to the Packers. He has won a playoff game in just 4 of his 12 seasons, and most of those came early.

When was the last time they fired a coordinator? From what I recall at least with the most recent ones they do not extend their contacts or they resign.

You'd probably have to go back to 60s before you can name the last hc who was fired.
No Steeler Chili for you 6 weeks!

So just listening to Aditi Kinkhabwala and she now thinks there could be another firing but wouldn't go out on the limb and say who she thought it would be. She did say something very telling though; that the team needs to hire a change management specialist to help Tomlin in his approach with dealing with the team and, and that she just spent a week in Baltimore and how different the approach was. That what she noticed is that the the coaches are teachers constantly teaching and coaching up the players, but didn't get the feeling she felt that way with our coaches. One other telling thing, she said we have the most talent of any team and its a shame since she thought we should be hoisting the trophy in February. Oh well Aditi, we all know how that shit goes with this organization.Art II needs to wake the fuck up if he wants this team to achieve their full potential.

Thats what he said Coach, so if Eddy is correct then Ol' Danny Boy looks to be back with his friend Butler.

Butler is quickly becoming the Tomlin of coordinators here. The defense looks bad so often, but does just enough by the end of the season to have respectable finishes in yardage and points against. I don't necessarily think Butler is a bad DC. I also believe that we've seen our offense improve with two changes with OCs over the years. We could see the same happen with a change on the defensive side. Way too many first and second round picks in that unit to perform the way they do.

Look as always with the Steelers these things take time... Tomlin will go into next season on the hot seat...

Remember noll missed the playoffs for what 4 seasons then had a miracle playoff spot in 89 and it took them until 92 to replace him
Cowher had a three year playoffless stretch with every bit as much drama in it as we have now... including a public fued with the GM and some high profile plauer meltdowns and they never pulled the trigger

She also said Tomlin has done a lot of covering up for AB this season.
She said that one of the players texted her Sunday morning of the Bengals game and said "I can't believe he tapped out" in reference to AB not playing vs Cincy.
