Steeler Nation Union Members - Who gets your vote in 2020?

Seems like informal polls are more telling, so would really appreciate knowing what your sense of your union is. Please say what union, and what you are hearing.

Assume the choice is Trump or a Democrat.

Not going to argue anything, just looking for data points.

    Thanks.

Just throwing this out there Chuck but are there really that many union jobs around that are not Gov't ? Back in my tenure in da Burg, there were a lot of unions but since then I have vacated as have a bunch of others...what's Pittsburgh got now, union wise ? Same goes nationwide, I'll assume.

Polling (AFGE) members will get some pretty standard answers...no ?

Campaign update: Miners warn Democrats on ending coal
The head of the largest U.S. miners union said Democratic presidential candidates participating in a climate change town hall Wednesday need to assure coal miners they won’t suffer any “negative effect” from ending the use of the fossil fuel.

Cecil Roberts, president of the United Mine Workers of America, said coal miners are “tired of being cast as villains” and are deeply skeptical of campaign promises they will win well-paying jobs in other sectors as the mineral is phased out as a power source.
In 2016 Hillary said, "We Are Going To Put A Lot Of Coal Miners & Coal Companies Out Of Business", and still they did not endorse Trump. They didn't endorse Hillary either, but that was gutless. This time grow a pair and endorse the only candidate looking out for you, and by the way the only candidate not saying they plan to put you out of business.

Private sector union membership is 7%. Government employee union membership is over 50%. Unions left the private sector decades ago in favor of the low-hanging fruit of government workers.

Most of us enjoy the benefits we have at work now because employers want to keep unions out.

I belonged to the union when I was a government employee but only because they offered dental insurance. Just saying. The way I figured it if you didn't do anything wrong you don't need the representation.

If I have to choose between Trump and Socialism, that's a pretty easy choice.

Most of the union people I know, and they are few(excluding teachers} are constantly complaining that the union hall never calls.

As much as I dislike Trump there is no Democrat with a shot at winning that I would consider. I've got two kids in college and third will be there in two years, I can't afford to have someone come in and wreck the economy next year.
