Got a couple of cases of 7.62x.39 steel jacketed, a decent scope, bipod, 3x 30 round mags and a 60. My dad has about 20 guns in his collection. He's just 10 miles away. Zombies beware. My oldest son has his concealed weapons permit,a 9mm and a .40 cal.

My cousin in Virgina has his federal firearms license. I can't even fathom what he has...haha.

    A must watch/read:

So this was known 15-20 years ago (just based on the above). And in related news:

Just a comment here. That’s the second time I have read about the replenishing of the masks in here. I could care less about Obama. But are you trying to say the Trump administration has not had enough time to replace these masks? I know my memory is starting to go a bit,but remind me again how long ago the other guy was in office? Maybe someone should be fucking well be held accountable for that in the current administration.

Masks? We don't need no stinkin masks

Trump says Americans can use scarves as makeshift masks

President Trump on Tuesday said Americans could use scarves as makeshift protective masks as the nation grapples with a shortage of protective gear amid the coronavirus outbreak.

"You know, you can use a scarf, a lot of people have scarves," Trump told reporters during a news conference at the White House. "My feeling is if people want to do it there is certainly no harm to it. I would say do it rather than going out to get a mask."

“And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are but the beginning of the birth pains. "Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name's sake. And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.”

    What's your magic cut-off, Trog? 100,000 lives? 50,000? 25,000? What? Tell me.

Because you better start looking around at what is killing people and in what numbers.

The fucking flu kills at least 19,000 per year, 80,000 in a bad year. You would have a lockdown every winter to prevent that. If not, why not? 20,000 deaths not a problem? 50,000? 75,000? What is your tipping point?
SIX WEEKS! 6/52 weeks. Irreversible harm?

The economy was going to take a serious blow either way. Do you really think hundreds of millions could get sick with tens of millions needing hospitalization and not getting it, and a million+ dying, and life and the economy would have gone on business as usual?

I can give healthcare workers who would be forced into deciding who lives and who dies, six weeks of my life. I can give the people who grew up during the depression and saved the world as we know it during WWII, six weeks of my life. Apparently, you cannot.

I've been here since way before then. I don't forget much. Don't recall you advocating these draconian measures, busting Bammy's balls for his piss poor response, angered about his cavalier golfing, nor your tears for those Americans we lost while he thought "this is all no big deal."

    Refresh me?
First of all, this isn’t H1N1. Where is you false equivalency detector? Secondly, aren’t you arguing that Obama handled it correctly and Trump is over-reacting? But nary a criticism of him. His people are now saying 100,000 a 240,000 dead. “Not that dangerous”, right?

So 100,000 is worst case, and 2.4 times that is also the worst case? Actually, they specified that the estimate assumed current measures would work as intended. And I’m not Chicken Little, I’m just repeating what what said and is being reported in every news outlet in the country, Ostrich.

There comes a time when people must reach down into their own response mechanisms and decide whether they are willing to give up their Constitutional protected rights for the sake of a health scare...... or not. Once relinquished, these rights will almost certainly never return, just like the emergence taxes that remain in place long after the emergence is over.

When societies lose their freedom, it is not ordinarily because autocrats or tyrants have forcibly taken it away. It is usually the result of the population willingly surrendering their freedom in return for protection against an external threat. While the threat is oftentimes real, it is invariably exaggerated.

This is what we in the United States are experiencing. The general public has been stampeded by the fearmongering in the media into demanding action from the politicians at both the state and federal level. The politicians respond and do not pause to ask whether these actions will work -- just do something! They do not ask if the financial and societal cost to the nation is worth the unknown and perhaps nebulous return.

Any student of history and human nature would recognize that these are the classic symptoms of collective hysteria. Hysteria is contagious. This nation is turning itself inside out as we, thanks to the media, are exaggerating the threat and not stopping to ask if the cure is worse than the disease.

WORLD—The coronavirus pandemic miraculously ended today after celebrities digitally joined together to sing John Lennon's "Imagine" in a universally loved viral video.

The medical community was trying to come up with vaccines and cures. Politicians were looking for ways to control the rate of infection. But all along, the only thing that needed to happen was for celebrities to sing an annoying song together from their giant, well-stocked houses, behind their secure walls, during the country's lockdown.

"As soon as the virus saw the celebrities singing about a communist utopia, it seems to have admitted defeat," said one amazed public health official. "And to think we wasted so many resources on trying to stop this thing when the clear solution was simply to sing about no heaven, no hell, no religion, and no possessions. The celebs didn't even have to give up their possessions, either -- they just had to sing about it, and the virus went away without any further harm."

If there's an upside, for the first time in our 17 year marriage Mrs. Burgundy is cooking dinner since she has to work from home and I don't. Her cooking skills are mostly limited to frozen pizza and microwave popcorn but last night's meatloaf was pretty good.

Fair enough, but this was in response to Obama's tweet about ignoring the threat, which he did, and coming off the swine flu and any contrary to direct advise about restocking, did nothing for 6 years, so he needs to shut up.
